AIC Women’s Rugby gears up for the future

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — When an athletic program reaches the Division I level for the first time, success is not expected. It is supposed to take time to establish themselves as a winning team before title aspirations could even be considered.

Don’t tell that to AIC Women’s Rugby.

In their first year in Division I, the Yellow Jackets finished third in the nation after knocking off West Chester University. The feat comes only five years after its inaugural season in 2009.

Entering next season, the Yellow Jackets return nine starters in addition to a loaded roster of experience, certainly a favorable advantage entering the new campaign.
