Goodguys Grundy 23rd Car Show at Big E
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — If you’re looking for a place to take dad on the Father’s Day weekend, you may want to consider the Goodguys All American 23rd East Coast Nationals. The car show highlights over 2,000 hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars from all years.
“We’re being more inclusive; including all cars up to 2014, basically we’re 1920-2014,” says Bill Goodwill.
Scott Fritz from Wallingford, CT shows off his black 1970 Chevy Nova.
“I’ve had all my life since I was 16 years old it was my first car,” says Fritz.
“What I did originally was drive it on the street and had fun with it like every kid would do.”
When he got married, he put the car away for about 25 years and then in 2000 he took it back out of the garage.
“I took the car apart down to every nut and bolt in my garage. It took 12 years to do over. I painted it, did everything myself,” Fritz explains.
Then in 2012 he finished the project of restoring his first car. Now he is proud to show it off at the show.
The event is at the Eastern States Exposition this weekend, June 13-15 for the Goodguys Grundy Worldwide Insurance All American Nationals.
In addition to vehicles on display there are also vendor exhibits, a swap meet, and cars for sale, corral, Goodguys AutoCross, entertainment on Saturday and Sunday by the Skid Marks, awards ceremony on Sunday and more.
Hours on Saturday are 8am to 5pm and Sunday 8am to 3pm. General admission is $15, and kids 7-12 $6. Kids 6 and under are FREE.
