BusinessWest Honors 40 Under Forty
HOLYOKE, Mass (WGGB) — A celebration of young business and civic leaders in Western Mass Thursday night in Holyoke. It’s BusinessWest Magazine’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2014. It’s a diverse group that includes a retinal surgeon who is also a best-selling author; Holyoke’s mayor, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who has become an entrepreneur and also leads blind and disabled veterans in mountain-climbing expeditions; a host of professionals; and many who have started their own businesses.
Jose Delgado, an aide to Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno is one of this year’s recipients. He says, “”It was definitely an honor. I want to thank the Mayor because he was one of the people who nominated me. He believed in me and gave me the opportunity to work in his office and really to get the opportunity to work for the city I love, the city of Springfield.”
Patricia Faginski, Vice President and Financial Advisor with St. Germain Investment Management was also honored. She was surprised by the nomination, adding, “”There were a few people that nominated me and I had no idea they were nominating me, so it was really wonderful to have the support in the community.”
There were more than 150 nominations this year, the highest total since the program was launched in 2007. Entries were scored by a panel of five judges who weighed everything from career accomplishments to involvement in the community. Those with the 40 highest scores made the list.
