Fantastic Stretch to Start Summer!

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –  Temperatures fell  into the 40’s and 50’s this morning. However temperatures have been climbing quickly and will reach into the upper 70’s later this afternoon with a nice breeze making it feel even more comfortable.  It will be a perfect day to spend time outdoors just make sure you put on plenty of sunscreen!

It will cool and refreshing overnight with temperatures back down into the 40’s! The record low for tomorrow, June 21st is 42 degrees. We have an outside chance of slipping that low by morning.

Both tomorrow and Sunday will feature sunshine along with highs near 80  tomorrow and in the lower 80’s on Sunday, despite a cool start both mornings.

Summer officially begins (called the summer solstice) tomorrow morning at 6:51 am. Ironically as summer begins temperatures will be in the 40s! Tomorrow is the longest day of the year. The sun will come at 5:14 and will set tomorrow night at 8:30 giving us 5 hours and 16 minutes of daylight.

Have a great day & weekend!
