Driver Cited in Crash that Killed Feeding Hills Man
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WGGB) — A South Hadley man is being cited following a deadly crash earlier this month.
Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s office says, that South Hadley Police have issued a criminal citation charging 45-year-old Mark Ducharme of South Hadley with negligent motor vehicle homicide.
The charge stems from a crash on Saturday, June 14 along Amherst Road in South Hadley.
Investigators say that around 4:40 p.m. that Saturday, a car driven by Ducharme went off the road and crashed into some trees.
The passenger in the car – Wesley Schutt, 62, of Feeding Hills – died from his injuries sustained in the crash.
Carey adds that that citation will now go to the Eastern Hampshire District Court clerk’s office to issue a criminal complaint.
The crash was investigated by South Hadley Police, state troopers assigned to the Northwestern D.A.’s office, and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
