Severe Storm Affecting Parts of Franklin County

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 5:30 pm for northern Franklin County.  A thunderstorm with heavy rain, damaging winds potentially over 60 mph and large hail is sliding east-southeast across Northern Franklin County effecting towns along the Vermont boarder and mainly north of Route 2.  We’ve received a few reports of tree damage.  The National Weather Service is reporting wind damage in Bernardston with three power poles impacted, and wind damage in Warwick and Monroe.  National Grid is also reporting a few scattered power outages in Franklin and Hampshire County right now.   Stay tuned to ABC40 starting at 5:00 p.m. for the latest details on this developing situation.
