SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Helping blisters heal faster and how coffee could help you burn more calories in Wednesday’s Health News Now.
Blisters: we all get them every once in a while. They can be painful and not pretty to look at, especially when they scar. To help them heal faster, doctors say the first step is simply ignoring them. The top of a blister acts as a natural bandage, protecting the skin. The fluid inside is basically water with some protein that will reabsorb into your bloodstream as the blister heals. But sometimes the swelling is just too much and in that case, that fluid can be drained.
Coffee lovers can rejoice as new evidence shows that drinking it before working out can help you burn more calories.
According to Health.com, a Spanish Study found that trained athletes who took caffeine before working out burned about 15% more calories hours after exercising. Coffee has been linked to several health benefits, such as increased circulation, better memory and less post-workout pain.
