Bruins Sign First-Round Pick Pastrnak; Re-sign Bartowski
BOSTON (WGGB) — The Boston Bruins signed their 18 year-old first-round draft pick, David Pastrnak, to an entry level deal on Tuesday.
The native of the Czech Republic had a strong showing during development camp and the Bruins’ General Manager Peter Chiarelli is not ruling out the possibility that the rookie would make the roster out of training camp.
Pastrnak was the 25th overall pick, after appearing in 36 games with the Swedish B League. He has been touted for his strength and speed and is coming along even more quickly than expected.
The Bruins made another move Tuesday, re-signing defenseman Matt Bartowski to a one-year deal.
Bartowski will return with a one-year, $1.25 million deal, after a solid first full season in the NHL.
Through 64 games, Bartowski contributed 18 assists, but didn’t manage his first career goal.
