SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — An investigation by Springfield Police has led to the arrest of four people on drug charges.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that over the three weeks, members of the Narcotics Division have been conducting an investigation following complaints that Heroin was possibly being sold at the One Stop Plaza on Central Street.

That investigation led to a search warrant being issued from Springfield District Court for a home on Chester Street.

Around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, officers moved in and executed that warrant.

During the raid, Delaney says that investigators reportedly confiscated a large amount of packaged Heroin and drug paraphernalia, as well as $169 in cash.

Ricardo Cruz, 34, and Corrine Salkovitz, 31, both of Springfield were arrested during the raid and are being charged with distribution of Heroin, and possession of Heroin with intent to distribute.

Police say that Salkovitz also has an outstanding warrant out of Lawrence for allegedly selling Cocaine.

Delaney adds that just before the raid, investigators reportedly saw two separate Heroin sales take place to people who drove up to the house. Those customers, identified as 56-year-old Pablo Santiago and 37-year-old Osvaldo Santos, both of Springfield, were arrested as they drove away.

Santiago and Santos are facing one count each of possession of Heroin.

“The narcotics detectives will continue to monitor illegal drug sales at the One Stop Plaza to end the dealing in that area for good,” Delaney says.

Arraignments fore all four individuals are scheduled for Thursday in Springfield District Court.
