Blue Sox Kick Off All-Star Game with Brunch

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WGGB) — Before this Sunday afternoon’s All-star game kicked off, the Blue Sox enjoyed brunch in Springfield.

Players and coaches enjoyed great food and were given words of wisdom from former All-star players who went on to play in the Major Leagues.

Valley native Mike Trombley, who pitched for 10 years in the MLB, says he recalls how it felt to be chosen for Sunday’s main event.

“This brings back real memories. Obviously, as a major league baseball player, I remember how much it meant to play a league like this. Anytime you make an all-star team is pretty a special thing,” Trombley said.

Trombley added how exciting the All-star game was to watch, as it is just the beginning of an amazing career ahead for many players.
