Sleepy Hollow Season 2: Is Ichabod a Gleek?
Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie
Sleepy Hollow stars Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, John Noble, Orlando Jones, Lyndie Greenwood and Katia Winter joined executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Len Wiseman, Mark Goffman and Heather Kadin at Comic-Con on Friday for a panel moderated by TV Guide Magazine’s Rob Moynihan. They hit San Diego to look back at the show’s crazy first season and tease what’s next.
Season 2 themes: “With the introduction of war, we’re going to follow through with that and it’s about redemption,” Goffman said.
Ichabod’s dilemma: “I’ve got to get out of a box,” Mison said about Ichabod’s Season 2 trajectory. As far as his exposure to 21st-century culture, he added. “You learned that he watched Glee... I doubt [he liked it]… wait, it’s Fox — he loved it!” Also, as promised earlier this month, Ichabod is puzzled by the pen-on-a-chain at the bank and then learns about credit cards. His reaction is hilariously outraged.
Get ready to meet the Kindred: Early sneak peek footage contains some humor, a skull, a few incantations… and then the Kindred pops up! But what happens next was sadly left out of the clip.
New help: Goffman said that there will be a new arms dealer who specializes in supernatural weaponry played by Matt Barr.

Abbie’s situation: We’ll learn why she’s a witness and more about her mother and father. Beharie added, “Also at the end of the season, Ichabod betrayed Abbie when he drew the map. They have a little bit of catching up to do.”
Irving’s incarceration: “I didn’t want to be a stereotype. My mother is probably upset,” Jones joked. “But my daughter is in peril, and I’ll do my best to save my family.”
The new sheriff in town: “We knew with Irving incarcerated, we needed a new sheriff,” Kadin said. “We wanted to have someone to be more of an obstacle for [Ichabod and Abbie].”
Katrina’s new predicament: “I’m not exactly free. I’m trapped with Headless,” Winter said. “There’s an interesting relationship forming between Katrina and Headless. She can see him as Abraham. There’s a little bit of a Beauty and the Beast situation. He obviously loves her and has an interesting way of showing it.” She added, “You’ll see why [Ichabod and Katia] love each other so much. I hope you’ll appreciate that a little at least.”
Jenny and Abbie: “It took so much for them to get along in the first place,” Greenwood said. “They’re always going to argue over something.. they’ll have more conflict at some point, but who knows what it will be.”
Sleepy Hollow scoop: The Pied Piper… and driving lessons?
Henry/Jeremy’s goals: Noble said, “He’s had his revenge but is still a servant of Moloch and evil… he’s become the personification of evil… he plants seeds of doubt in everyone. He’s very cold and calculating… but we do then need to look at the redemption aspect of it. Mum and dad, even if Henry has behaved so poorly, for me it’s just an adolescent phase.”
Fun “twist”-ory: Goffman teased that we’ll see Benjamin Franklin and the “uneasy relationship” he has with Crane, in addition to Benedict Arnold.
Katrina’s powers Winter says that now that she’s free, she will actually get to use more magic going forward.
Bloopers! Expect to see a one- or two-minute blooper reel on the Season 1 DVD. “No one swears like Tom Mison,” Kurtzman said, and added that some of those curse words may have made the reel.
Sleepy Hollow returns Monday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c on Fox. Watch the crazy Season 1 finale here.
