3 Vehicle Crash Sends Man to Hospital in Peabody

Car-AccidentPEABODY, Mass. (WGGB) — Massachusetts State Police from the Danvers Barracks responded to a three vehicle crash on Route 1 North in Peabody around six o’clock Saturday morning.

According to police, one of the vehicles struck a utility pole, entrapping the 37-year-old male operator from Peabody. With the assistance from the Peabody Fire Department, troopers were able to extricate and transport the operator to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation but police believe excessive speed may have played a role in the crash.

The roadway was closed until 8:30 a.m. and one lane is currently open.
