One More Round of Strong to Severe Storms Possible

Weather AlertsSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)   Clouds are breaking to sunshine but this will only help to instigate more showers and storms. We remain out ahead of a cold front and a vigorous system with lots of energy so keep an eye to the sky we may have another round of strong to severe storms.

Storms this afternoon have the potential to produce damaging winds, flooding rains and and large hail. There is also a slight possibility of spin up or small tornado. Not to mention every thunderstorms, severe or not, contains lightning so be sure to head inside as soon as you hear the thunder.  A cold front will finally move through this evening and will dry things out overnight putting an end to the rain and severe weather.

Skies will clear out partially overnight as we cool off and dry out. By morning temperatures will be down into the 50s.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with lower levels of humidity.  Highs will only make it into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees but the dew points will be down into the 50s.  The nice weather should stick around through late week with seasonable highs in the lower 80s and overnight lows in the 50s. Not bad for the last week of July/first week of August!

Have a great afternoon and stay safe!

Dan Brown
