Springfield-Area Gas Prices Down Over 3 Cents
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Motorists in the area may be noticing a little relief at the gas pumps.
A recent survey by GasBuddy.com reports that the average price of a gallon of gas in the area has dropped 3.2 cents over the last week – to $3.62 per gallon.
The survey was conducted among 257 Springfield-area gas stations.
Meanwhile, the national average has also dropped over the last week, down 4.9 cents to $3.51 per gallon.
“The drop in gas prices during the middle of the summer certainly has been welcome relief to families and individuals alike who are hitting the road during the peak of the summer driving season. The national average now stands at its lowest point since March of this year, and will likely drop under $3.50/gallon by mid-week,” explains GasBuddy.com’s Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
