(WGGB) — The Red Sox are reportedly making some more moves as the trade deadline approaches.

Just hours after Sox pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes were traded to Oakland, the Sox announced that pitcher John Lackey, minor league pitcher Corey Littrell were traded to St. Louis.

Cash considerations to St. Louis were also part of the transaction.

In exchange, Boston will receive pitcher Joe Kelly and outfielder/first baseman Allen Craig from the Cardinals.

In 97 games with St. Louis, Craig has a .237 average, with seven home runs and 44 RBI’s. He has played most of the season out in the outfield, but did play 24 games at first base.

Kelly, who spent time on the DL for a left hamstring strain suffered during a game in April, has a 4.37 ERA with a 2-2 record in seven starts this season with the Cardinals.

Kelly is 17-14 on his career with a 3.25 ERA in 68 games – 38 of which were starts.

The non-waiver trade deadline is Thursday at 4 p.m. Eastern.
