Fire that Damaged Agawam Home Intentionally Set


AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) — Investigators say that a fire that damaged an Agawam home was intentionally set.

Firefighters were called out to a report of a fire at 41 Spencer Street around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Agawam Fire Chief Alan Sirois says that it has been determined that “the fire was set by one or more individuals” and now, officials with Agawam Fire and the State Fire Marshal’s office are looking for the public’s help in trying to solve the case.

Anyone with information on Wednesday’s fire is asked to call the Agawam Fire Department at (413) 786-0657 or the Mass. Arson Hotline at (800) 682-9229.

A reward up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in the case.

All calls to the Arson Hotline will remain confidential.
