HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — A Holyoke man is facing several drug charges following a traffic stop Friday morning.

Mass. State Police say that around 9:45 a.m. Friday, troopers were patrolling along I-391 north in Holyoke when they reportedly saw a GMC Yukon on the roadway with an expired registration.

That SUV got off into Holyoke, and State Police pulled over the vehicle on South Street.

Following an investigation, troopers found that the driver, 35-year-old Julio Izquierdo of Holyoke, was allegedly in possession of marijuana, which was packaged for distribution. He was also reportedly unlawfully possessing Suboxone, which is a controlled Class B substance.

Izquierdo was arrested and charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Class B substance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
