Casino Opponents Gather to Discuss Issue Ahead of November Election
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Several people gathered Wednesday to discuss the possibility of casinos coming to the Bay State.
The question will be put before voters in the November elections.
Anti-casino activists met in a West Springfield restaurant to share their concerns.
“I’m particularly concerned about the health and welfare not only of those people that are gambling, but also their families, because I think we know a great deal now, more than we did years ago,” says Ann Sheridan of West Springfield.
Candidate for Attorney General Maura Healey came to the gathering to discuss her views the impact casinos would have on local small businesses.
