Westfield Fenway Hosts 9/11 Wiffle Ball Tournament

Westfield, MA (WGGB)—-Westfield Fenway kicked off their 6th annual 9/11 Memorial wiffle ball tournament this weekend.

This year’s tournament is in honor of Army Sgt. Kyle J. Harrington of Swansea, MA who was killed in the line of duty.

The tournament also raises money for the Community Christian School and the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund to assist families of fallen soldiers.

The tournament is a fun way to raise money for a good cause.

“We’ve been a part of the Massacusett’s soldiers legacy fund since my husband passed away,” said Faith Harrington, widow of Kyle Harrington. “They’re one of the first organizations that we were aware of and involved the children. They pay for their college and they even paid for summer camp this year. It’s something that the kids get to participate in and they’re having fun and that’s all i can really ask for….. to be able to think about their dad and honor him and still have fun.”

The tournament runs through Sunday.
