SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – With Labor Day a week away, the Springfield area is seeing some of the lowest gas prices of the summer.

GasBuddy.com is reporting the average price in western Mass. dropped another four cents in the past week to $3.47/gallon. That’s almost 20 cents lower than a year ago, and a drop of 18 cents in the past month.

Nationally, gas prices are the lowest at this time of year since 2010, when the average was well-below three dollars.
