Chicopee Police Warning of Sales Scam

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — Chicopee Police warning of a sales scam. They say people are going door-to-door selling Rockstar Subscriptions.

Police explain that the sellers are not registered with the city to sell door-to-door.

There have been a number of complaints about people giving money and not getting magazines or other products.

In order to do business in the city, you need to sign up with the police department.

“We don’t want to discourage people from doing business in the city…coming in and trying to solicit people to do things with their business. We just want to make sure that we protect the citizens and protest everybody by having them come in and fill out the proper paper work,” says Chicopee Police Officer Michael Michael Wilks.

One of the parties involved drives a white Malibu wagon with Colorado plates.

If you see them in your neighborhood, or they come to door, you should call Chicopee Police at (413) 592-6341.
