Ferry Runs Aground at Lynn Harbor with 17 On Board
LYNN (WGGB) — A ferry ran aground in Lynn Harbor Wednesday night, stranding the vessel roughly a quarter of a mile from the pier.
The Coast Guard said a rescue team was launched around 8:20 p.m. to rescue the 13 passengers and four crew members aboard the 47-foot ferry.
None of the people were injured when the vessel hit land and all of the passengers have been removed. The Coast Guard had said in a press release that they hope The Cetacea will re-float at the incoming tide around 1:00 a.m. Thursday, but the ferry has reportedly been returned to the harbor safely.
