Amherst proves to be the only team in Western Mass that can win a state title.  They did it behind an amazing performance from senior Kevin Ziomek.  The Hurricanes take this one 3-2 the final over Xaverian.
Div I Girls Lax States: Longmeadow/Framingham
The Longmeadow Lady Lancers fall in the state finals 8-7 to Framingham.
Division III Baseball State Finals: Ware/Norton
Ware would fall in this one 7-4 but at least they're still WMass champs.
Girls Lacrosse: Longmeadow/Westborough Semis
Longmeadow beats Westborough and advances to the State Finals vs Framingham on Saturday at 1 in Worcester (Foley Stadium).
Boys' Lax: Longmeadow/St. John's State Semis
Longmeadow knocks off St. John's in four overtimes, 12-11, to advance to the State Finals, Saturday at 3 p.m., at Foley Stadium in Worcester.
Baseball: Ware/St. Bernard's State Semis
Ware takes care of St. Bernard's, 3-2. Ware advances to play the winner of Whittier and Norton in the State Final on Saturday.
Baseball: Amherst/Wachusett State Semis
Amherst wins this one, 5-0, over Wachusett, behind a great performance from Derek Osbourne. Amherst will play in the State Final on Saturday.
WMass Baseball: Div I Amherst/East Longmeadow
Amherst edges out East Longmeadow 1-0 the final behind a stellar performance from Dean Bonneau.
WMass Softball: Div III Ware/Turners Falls
Division III WMass final of Ware and defending champ Turners Falls.

Undefeated Amherst took care of West Springfield 1-0 the final.

Remembering Frank Tudryn - Northampton Football
Frank Tudryn was a legend not just at Northampton High School but all over Western Mass and even in Florida where he continued coaching.  Frank lost his battle with cancer at just 62 years old yesterday.

Conor Reynolds was a senior star on the Cathedral Soccer team.  His life was tragically cut short when he died from a stab wound in the neck.  The abc40 family sends its deepest condolences to the Reynolds family and all those that knew Conor.
