AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) -- An East Templeton man is in police custody for drug charges in New York after police found him on Hobart Lane Saturday night.

According to Police Lt. Ronald A. Young, Brandon R. Whitney was arrested after police were made aware shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday the Cambridge Village Police Department in New York had obtained a warrant for his arrest on narcotics charges.

Police allegedly found Whitney's vehicle parked illegally on Hobart Lane, and he was arrested without incident on a fugitive from justice warrant, according to Young. Whitney was held without bail over the weekend, according to police, and is facing rendition back to New York.
