EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) -- A Springfield man was apprehended after he was seen fleeing from an alleged breaking and entering scene Tuesday evening, according to Sgt. Dennis M. Sheehan of the East Longmeadow Police Department.
Christopher J. Abdow, 21, of 205 Newhouse St., Springfield, was allegedly seen fleeing from an Elm Street home. When officers attempted to talk to Abdow, he fled and was allegedly seen tossing a white bag into the bushes, according to police reports.
Police allegedly found a .380 caliber, fully-loaded semi-automatic pistol in the discarded bag, according to officials. They then apprehended Abdow and found they he allegedly was in possession of ammunition and items stolen from the residence, according to police.
Abdow is facing charges of with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card, breaking and entering in the daytime and larceny from a building, according to police reports.
The suspect had been held on $7,500 bail until his arraignment Wednesday in Palmer District Court, according to police.
