SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) -- Police arrested a Wilbraham man for allegedly breaking and entering into a Newhouse Street Home, according to Springfield Police Department Sgt. John Delaney.

A witness allegedly saw the man allegedly breaking into the home, which is located at 290 Newhouse St., in the East Forest Park neighborhood. He then called police, police said Friday morning.

As police approached the scene, they saw a man on the side of the street who was later identified as the suspect, Thomas J. Dean Jr., 30, of 528 Ridge Road, Wilbraham, according to police. The police went back to the area where they found Dean, who allegedly had the stolen items on him, according to officials.

Dean was arrested on charges of breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana, according to Delaney
