SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) -- Police arrested six people in Springfield on drug charges Wednesday, according to Springfield Police Department Sgt. John Delaney.

Police arrested two people during a drug raid of 18 Columbia Terrace, according to police.  Neighbors of Lakeanna S. Carter, 23, who lives at the residence, had complained that drugs were allegedly being sold from the address, according to reports.

Police held the apartment and traffic to the apartment under surveillance.  They conducted the raid on Wednesday afternoon and allegedly found a large amount of crack packaged for sale, as well as bags of heroin and marijuana, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and $475 in cash, according to reports.  Delaney described the address as a “one stop shopping location for the addicted.”

Arrested at the location were Lakeanna S. Carter and Shamar Pratt, 24, of 100 Mill St.  Both suspects were charged with possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, along with violation of a drug-free school zone, according to reports.

Two officers arrested another two people on drug charges at the corner of Pasadena and Bloomfield Street, according to reports.

Officers watched as a female sat parked in her car at a local gas station known as a drop off area for drug dealers.  They then observed a male walk over to the window and sell marijuana to the female, according to officials.

When confronted, the female explained that she only bought $40 worth of marijuana.  Police then found $40 on the male suspect, according to Delaney.

Jose L. Hernandez, 28, of 254 Franklin St., was arrested for distribution of marijuana and Amy Couture, 26, of Carew Street, was given a citation for possessing less than once ounce of marijuana, according to police.

Later Wednesday evening, two more individuals were arrested on drug charges.  Angel Rivas, 27, of 476 Cold Spring Ave., West Springfield, was charged with possession of a class B substance intent to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine, according to Delaney.

Rivas was seen allegedly selling a bag of crack cocaine to Carlos Ponce, 26, of 14 Windemere St.  Ponce was arrested on possession of crack cocaine charges, according to police.

The exchange allegedly happened at Dwight and Jefferson Avenue, according to reports
