SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) -- After a three-week investigation, the Springfield Gang Intelligence Unit and narcotics officers conducted a drug raid of 57 Sycamore St., Tuesday, according to Springfield Police Department Sgt. John Delaney, which allegedly yielded drugs and ammunition.
The residence was said to be involved with crack distribution to local gangs for street sale, according to Delaney. While raiding the residence, police allegedly found 44 grams of pure crack cocaine, seven rounds of ammunition, a large bag of marijuana, packaging materials, scales and drug paraphernalia, according to police reports.
Arrested were Ollie Britt, 50, Carlton Torres, 34, and Nathaniel Lee, 61, all of 57 Sycamore St. They’re facing charges of trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card and violating a drug-free school zone, according to reports.
According to Delaney, this is an important arrest because the suspects were allegedly a “source supplier to the gangs.”
The three suspects have been scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court today.
