PVTA bus strikes pedestrian in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) -- A Pioneer Valley Transit Authority bus struck a pedestrian shortly after 7 a.m. Friday, which has sent the man to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

Springfield Police Department Capt. Eugene Dexheimer said accident was reported at 7:06 a.m. at the intersection of Main and Liberty Streets. It was raining at the time of the incident.

Details for the circumstances leading up to the incident or the condition of the man were not immediately available Friday morning.
