SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) -- Narcotics officers made four drug-related arrests Thursday after surveillance had been placed on some alleged Springfield drug dealers, according to Sgt. John Delaney.
Officers conducted a drug raid at 41 Woodside Terrace, apartment 4-L, after what Delaney called in a statement “a lengthy investigation on the sale of Marijuana coming from this address,” which included an undercover officer purchasing marijuana from the alleged drug dealers, according to police.
According to police, the officers found crack cocaine, powder cocaine and marijuana, all packaged for sale, along with drug paraphernalia and $160 in cash.
Darnell Lamar Redfield, 32, and Tiesha Simmons, 30, both of 41 Woodside Terrace, were arrested on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and distribution of marijuana, according to police.
Both suspects had been scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court Friday.
Later that evening, police arrested two more alleged drug dealers after they observed a vehicle make a drug pick up, according to police reports.
A white Mitsubishi pulled up to a Woodside Terrace residence and honked their horn which lead to an individual approaching the car and allegedly buying marijuana from the two people within the vehicle, according to officials.
The undercover narcotics officers followed the Mitsubishi to the area of 66 Fort Pleasant Ave., where the two alleged dealers appeared to be getting ready to make another deal, but officers intervened and arrested Julio Sepulveda, 20, of 18 Pomona St., and David Reyes, 19, of 157 Dickinson St., before that deal was made, according to police.
Sepulveda and Reyes were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to reports.
Officers also allegedly found a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale within the vehicle and $560 in cash.
