LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) -- Longmeadow Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing woman.
Capt. John Stankiewicz tells ABC40 and FOX 6 that they are looking for 63-year-old Mary Johnston of Cambridge Circle. Her husband last spoke to her around 11:00 Thursday morning, before she went on her walk. She never returned home and her husband notified the police that she was missing around 5:15 p.m.
Police are concerned because Johnston has the early onset of Alzheimer's Disease and was supposed to be home all day, not out around town. Wilbraham Police and Massachusetts State Police have dogs and the State Police Airwing is overhead aiding in the search.
Ms. Johnston is described as a white female, 5' 1" tall, and weighs 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black pea coat, jeans, glasses, and a wool cap.
Residents may be getting a phone call from the police because they are utilizing their community alert system to alert the town. Residents are being asked to check around their property and cars.
Anyone who may have seen Ms. Johnston is asked to call Longmeadow Police at 567-3311.
