HOLYOKE, Mass. (abc40) -- Five people were arrested Friday night during a Brown Avenue drug raid that resulted in an estimated $3,750 worth of heroin allegedly being pulled off the streets, according to police.
Holyoke Police Chief Anthony Scott released a statement on the arrests at 107 and 143 Brown Ave., noting the number of alleged previous encouters police have had with the five people arrested Friday.
"These five arrestees have also taken a few rides on the Hampden County merry-go-round of justice," said Scott, who goes on to state the five people combined have accumulated around 30 arraignments.
Luis A. Rivera, of Holyoke, was arrested on cocaine trafficking charges for allegedly possessing over 100 grams of the illegal drug, according to police and is being held on $250,000 bail.
Daniel Burgos, of Holyoke, was arrested on charges of possession of a class A drug (heroin), and possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute, according to police, and is being held on $10,000 bail. According Scott, Burgos is on parole for federal drug charges.
Vaness Rene LaFlamme, of Chicopee, was arrested on charges of possession of a class B drug, which includes cocaine, and was released on her personal recognizance, according to police.
Keila Bermudez, of Holyoke, and Tara Lynn Taft, of Chicopee, were arrested on default warrants, according to police, and are being held without bail.
Police also allegedly recovered pills and knife during the raid.
