SPRINGFIELD, Mass (abc40) - Tony Gaffney is on his way to Miami today and will be working out for the Miami Heat tomorrow, just one day before the NBA Draft in New York.
Gaffney has worked out for four teams (Pacers, Bucks, Kings, Bobcats) already and Miami will make five total for the former UMass standout.
Gaffney has been projected by many different experts and mock-draft scenarios as being taken early in the second round of the NBA draft.
Gaffney finished his senior season at UMass with 11.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He also was third in the nation in blocks per game (3.8) and was 17th in the nation in rebounds per game. Gaffney was also the fifth player in NCAA since 1996-97 with 100 blocks and 50 steals in a season.
The NBA Draft will be televised live on ESPN Thursday at 7:30 pm.
