SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WGGB) - WGGB is once again proud to be a sponsor of Rays of Hope: A Walk Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer.  On October 25th, thousands of walkers will step off in Springfield and Greenfield to raise money and awareness.  The funds raised will support local breast cancer-related programs and research.

Local scientists undertaking breast cancer studies can apply for Rays of Hope grants to support their research.  Many of those projects are happening at the Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute in Springfield.  Once researchers begin gathering results, many will be eligible to apply for larger grants from other organizations.
