Shannon Hegy joined the ABC40 team in September of 2007.

She graduated from Hofstra University in May 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

While at Hofstra, Shannon interned at NBC’s Today Show in New York City where she gained valuable knowledge and experience in the news media field.

She also anchored, reported and produced for Hofstra’s television news station.

Shannon was born and raised in Windsor, Connecticut, but spent the majority of her childhood right here in Western Massachusetts.  Generations of both of her parents families are from Holyoke.  Her mother was a Colleen in the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Day Parade and her father’s family owned Hegy’s cleaners.

Shannon currently lives in Agawam but she’ll travel just about anywhere for a good round of karaoke!
