Tyler Jankoski is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.S. in Meteorology with a focus in Weather Forecasting and Communications. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society.
Tyler grew up in Bristol, Conn. He’s been studying New England weather for many years, especially big winter Nor’easters.
During the summers of 2012 and 2013, Tyler had the opportunity to intern at WVIT-TV (NBC Connecticut) in West Hartford, Conn.
At Penn State, Tyler was heavily involved in the communications branch of the Campus Weather Service, and served in a variety of roles including Vice President. He spearheaded the creation of the Live Broadcast and Social Media Teams. Additionally, Tyler served as an on-camera forecaster for Weather World, Weather or Not, and the award-winning Centre County Report.
Each summer since 2004, Tyler has volunteered at the Little League Baseball Eastern Regional Tournament in Bristol, Conn.
Tyler is a diehard Nittany Lions fan, and says there is nothing better than a “White Out” at Beaver Stadium. In his free time, you can find him cheering on Penn State, photographing fire trucks, skiing, and watching the weather.
