The Art of Narrative Psychiatry
Join us for a five-week traning series to enable participants to apply the principles and practices of narrative psychiatry in their work with patients. Narrative psychiatry is a strengths-based, collaborative approach that off ers myriad ways to provide person-centered, recovery-oriented mental health treatment.
A corresponding goal of the training is to help develop a common language for and understanding of strength-based mental health treatment and to promote interdisciplinary teamwork among health pro…fessionals who are working with the most vulnerable young people in our region.
This event is jointly sponsored by the Center for Human Development (CHD), Providence Behavorial Health Hospital, Tufts University School of Medicine, and Cutchins Programs for Children & Families.

Soldiers Home in Holyoke Cruise Nights
This Cruise Night is free to the public. It is brought to you by the Stars and Stripes Car Club! It is held in the back parking lot of the Soldiers Home in Holyoke. It runs twice a Month Starting May 4. We will be having Classic Cars and Hot Rods, Motorcycles and nice Cars too! Food and Raffles are for sale as well as Tshirts for the event. All of this benefits the veterans at the Holyoke Soldiers Home! Attached below is a flyer for our show. Festival of Russian Culture KALINKA-2013
KALINKA TO CELEBRATE WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS’ RUSSIAN CULTURE
June 15 festival in West Springfield features food, music, other activities
WEST SPRINGFIELD – Kalinka 2013 will offer residents of Western Massachusetts the opportunity Saturday, June 15, to enjoy the food, music and other cultural aspects of the region’s vibrant Russian speaking community. It also will celebrate World Refugee Day
The 7th annual Kalinka festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day at the Elks Lodge, 429 Morgan Ave., West Springfield. Admission is free. It is organized each year by the West Springfield-based Russian Community Association of Massachusetts.
Vendors of food and merchandise will feature their products at the festival, which takes its name from a Russian berry and the name of a popular Russian song. Festival is a family event offering a lot of kids activities: bounce house, clown, face painting, games, contests, and prizes.

Be a PAL! Volunteer with Homeless Children!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO PLAY WITH HOMELESS CHILDREN
Did you know that 1 in every 45 children in the U.S will go to sleep without a home this year? Horizons for Homeless Children is seeking fun-loving, dependable people to interact and play with children living in family homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters throughout Western Massachusetts. A commitment of 2 hours a week is required for at least 6 months or 1 semester if you are a student. Day and evening hours are available. Trainings are held regularly and are listed on our website. Men’s Health Symposium
The Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition, in collaboration with the Springfield YMCA’s MOCHA program will be hosting a Men’s Health Symposium on June 12th at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). The purpose of the program will be to highlight the ongoing activities of the MOCHA program and to help strengthen the relationship of Mass Prostate Cancer Coalition with community organizations in Western Mass. The program is free and open to the public, but we are encouraging everyone to register to monitor our numbers. Lunch will be provided. The keynote speaker is Dr. Christopher Lathan, of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Pine Point Council Save Our Library Meeting
The Pine Point Community Council will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 7 pm at 335 Berkshire Avenue.
City Councilors John Lysak and Clodo Concepcion have been invited to discuss the proposed closing of the Pine Point Library and actions that can be taken to keep the library open. Information about energy audits will also be available.
The Pine Point Council invites all residents interested in keeping our library open to attend the meeting.
