Wrestler Collapses, Coaches Hailed as Heroes

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (abc40)- A Sabis International Charter School wrestler is recovering after collapsing after a match Wednesday night and his coaches are being hailed as heroes.

The varsity athlete collapsed after a match Wednesday night. His coaches used CPR and an AED to bring him back to life.  The school says it requires it's coaches be trained in rescue techniques.

A bill introduced in the State Senate would require high school coaches across Massachusetts to get CPR and AED certifications.
